School Resource Officer
Hello, my name is Christopher Nguyen and I am grateful for the opportunity of being the Taber Police Service’s School Resource Officer in partnership with the Horizon and Holy Spirit School Divisions.
I have been a Police Officer since June of 2000. After graduating from the RCMP “Depot” Academy, I began my career with the Blood Tribe Police Service on Canada’s largest First Nations Reserve. In August of 2010, I was recruited to the Taber Police Service and my family and I moved to Taber to join this incredible Southern Alberta community.
The majority of my career has been spent in Patrols which has allowed me many opportunities to interact with and become involved in various youth organizations. I am a firm proponent of empowering our youth through the teachings of functional life skills and the development of positive attributes. As a serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces, I am happily involved with our local 225 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron – Taber Comet where we promote Citizenship, Physical Fitness, Community Service and an interest in the Canadian Armed Forces.
As a youth, I was a student and graduate of the Holy Spirit School Division having attended St. Paul’s, St. Basil’s, St. Francis and Catholic Central High School in Lethbridge.
I believe that lasting communities are built upon strong foundations where family structure, honesty, faith, and respect are instilled in our youth through the support of our valued educators and community.
I am proud and eager to support the education and development of our community’s future leaders and look forward to building many lifelong relationships.
